Abstract:

Abilities of 445 nm wavelength diode lasers with optical power output >7000 mW are not well studied.  Endurance laser lab is going to make some research and answer such questions as: How does the laser affect cell mitosis? Can the laser with this wavelength affect cancer? Does the laser affect metabolic processes in cells?Right now, we are working on analysing if the laser stimulates the growth speed of any plants and can the laser help find organic life. Another interesting research is to define how the laser can speed up any chemical reactions especially in terms oxidation and reduction of metals. There were made some experiments where it was found that the laser provokes uncontrollable chemical reactions especially in liquids. It is possible if the laser can change properties or states of liquids. There were some experiments made where laser beam splitter has changed the colour of glowing in inert gases. An ongoing project will help to understand if there is a shift of a wavelength while the diode temperature is 100-170K.Some experiments showed that in Bose-Einstein condensate laser beam can dramatically lose its speed which means that the speed light varies in different states.
